The Truth about Barrier Matting...
Barrier matting systems offer so much more than just a wiper for dirty shoes. This product is a hardwearing matting which has excellent water and moisture absorption and retention properties. “It does exactly what it says on the tin,” says Jay who is very pleased with the result. “It’s robust and hard-wearing, and in terms of ongoing maintenance, it can be taken up very easily and cleans up well”. Another important consideration for Jay was the appearance of the barrier matting, which had to create a positive first impression to visitors to the centre that is now 30 years old. The Milliken Obex Forma surface mounted solution installed by Syncros ticked all the boxes for the Pentagon Centre and removed the need to excavate a mat well. They were also very happy with the service that they received from Syncros before, during and after the installation.
Steve Doggett, Centre Manager at the busy Victoria Place Shopping Centre, Victoria, Central London, was keen to find a low-maintenance solution offering excellent strength and durability to cope with high footfall, which is in excess of 12 million visitors per year. “The strength of the product together with its ability to handle dirt and moisture were our main considerations”, says Steve.
