Protection from the outside in
Syncros can work with your business to ensure you’re provided with the best solution for your requirements and budget. To get you started, we’ve put together a handy breakdown of different matting zones and their purpose.
To determine the most effective type of entrance matting solution, our team will evaluate your buildings’ unique entrance requirements based on three distinct zones.
External Matting is the first line of defence for your building, as it captures dirt from the soles of shoes. These mats are generally located outside the building entrance whether this be exposed to the elements or under canopy.
Primary Matting is located immediately inside the building. It is designed to capture moisture & dirt from the soles of shoes.
The ‘Front to Back’ (Traffic Direction) dimensions of a mat, will be heavily influenced by the location, volume and type of traffic in your premises.
As a guide, BS 7953:1999 recommends a minimum of 2.1m, however, the WELL standard recommends a minimum of 3m in low traffic areas, and up to 10m for optimum performance in the highest traffic areas such as major stations, stadiums and airports
Secondary Matting can be used to extend entrance flooring systems as required, ensuring all moisture and fine dirt particles are captured before they can enter rest of the building.
